What is Myofunctional Therapy?

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) is the neurological re-education and re-patterning of the oral, facial, and oropharyngeal muscles (occupying certain regions of the neck). Orofacial Myofunctional Therapists often work in partnership with other medical professionals, such as dentists, orthodontists, pediatricians, ENTs, physical and occupational therapists, nutritionists, and more. Orofacial Myofunctional therapy consists of a series of customized exercises delivered by a trained therapist to re-educate the muscles of the face and mouth and restore their proper functions.
